Aug. 28 – Sept. 25:  OUTDOOR SPACES: 6 PAINTERS

The powerful drama of icebergs at sea, “portraits” of well known Wichita landmarks, residential neighborhoods beautifully and playfully interpreted, rural Kansas hamlets, the subtle play of light across the Kansas countryside, minimal and abstract interpretations of modern urban spaces. Artists include: Mark Flickinger, Bill Goffrier, Rebecca Hoyer, Brian Hinkle, Tim Stone, and Fred Bohn

Reception: Final Friday, August 28

 

Oct. 2 - Oct. 30: ANN PIPER – “IMMORTALS”

Ann Piper spent three years as professor of painting at Emporia State University before moving on to her current position at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. These 30+ larger than life “mug shots” demonstrate Ann’s exceptional drawing skill and equally exceptional facility with paint.

Closing reception: Final Friday, October 30

 

Nov. 2 – Dec. 11: MARYDORSEY WANLESS

The documentary photography project, “Living with Less: Discarding One Possession Every Day,” is a photographic installation comprised of twelve monthly calendar grids, beginning with January 2013. Each day a possession was chosen, photographed, and finally discarded. Each item is displayed separately to establish it as an object of importance. There is an explanation of the history, meaning, and method of discard of each on a card in front of the month.

Reception: Friday, Dec. 4. 6-8pm

 

Jan. 25 – February 28: TEXTILE/WEARABLE ART

Two of our recent art students have gone on to study textiles - one at the University of Kansas and the other at Kansas State University. They have agreed to help us build an exhibit of their own work as well as the work of other artists working in the medium.

Reception: Final Friday, January 29, 5 – 8 pm

 

March 4 – April 1 – ABSTRACT PAINTERS

This exhibit features a number of the regions finest abstract artists.

Opening reception: Friday, March 4, 6-8pm

 

April 13 – May 5: ANNUAL JURIED STUDENT EXHIBIT

The exceptional talents of our students are on display. Work includes drawing, painting, jewelry, ceramics, 2-D and 3-D Design.

Reception and Awards Ceremony: Friday, March 15, 6 – 8pm

 

May 10: ANNUAL STUDENT ART SALE

10:00 am – 4:00 pm
