BCTV

You can try your hand at producing, directing, writing, on-camera performance and production in the studio and on the field on Butler Television (BCTV 20). The station airs daily over cable systems in El Dorado, Augusta and Towanda, combining syndicated shows produced outside of Butler, programming created by Butler’s professional Station Manager and student-produced shows. When you work on Butler television, you work on magazine feature shows like Campus Edge and skit/comedy entertainment shows like McGrizzles, as well as interview/news shows and independent projects. Students have shot music videos, short films and corporate entraining projects. Your imagination is the only limiting factor.

Activity scholarships, which cover tuition (equivalent to that paid by Kansas in-county residents) and books, are available each semester for Butler television staff. You don't need to major in mass communications in order to participate or receive a scholarship, but are required to work on radio, television and internet projects.

Butler television has been honored by local and state organizations, including the Kansas Association of Broadcasters. Butler students regularly showcase their television projects in national festivals sponsored by the College Media Association and Collegiate Broadcasting. Former Butler television students have gone on to four-year colleges, affiliate television stations and corporate production facilities.
